Shipping and Receiving SpecialistWarehouse / Operations – Geismar, Louisiana | Full-Time | Entry–Mid LevelJOB SUMMARYThe Shipping and Receiving Specialist supports warehouse and shipping/receiving operations while serving as the primary point of contact at the Will Call desk for face-to-face customer service. This role works cross-functionally with all departments to ensure accurate inventory management, timely shipment scheduling, and a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.JOB RELATIONSHIPSImmediate Supervisor: Inventory Control / Purchasing ManagerWorkers Supervised: NoneInterrelationships: Interfaces daily with Inside Sales, Field Services, and external customers and carriersQUALIFICATIONSEducation: High school diploma or equivalent requiredTraining / Experience: Minimum 2 years of inventory control, shipping/receiving, or warehouse experience required; forklift and chainsaw operation preferred; knowledge of oil & gas or HDPE pipe products a plus; TWIC card and OSHA certification preferred; must pass drug screeningAbilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to operate inventory and ERP systems; strong attention to detail for order accuracy; effective verbal and written communication; valid driver's license requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to work indoors and outdoors in manufacturing, warehouse, and plant environmentsMust be able to sit, stand, and bend for extended periodsMust be able to lift and carry 50+ lbsProlonged computer data entry and administrative tasks requiredRequired to wear appropriate PPE at all times in warehouse and outdoor settingsTravel may be required; must maintain a valid driver's license and current site-access credentials (TWIC, FRC)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY AND ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES1. Shipping and ReceivingInspect all incoming shipments against bills of lading and packing slips to verify accuracyUnload pipe deliveries using a forklift; organize pipe in the yard by size and wall thicknessLoad trucks with pipes, machines, and fittings in accordance with purchase ordersSchedule outbound shipments via UPS, LTL, and hot shot carriersMaintain and order propane for forklift operations2. Will Call and Customer ServiceGreet and assist customers at the Will Call desk with order fulfillment and product inquiriesFabricate pipe as needed to fulfill specific customer requestsCut pipe using a chainsaw in compliance with all safety procedures; bundle for shipment3. Inventory ManagementPackage parts and fittings accurately for outbound ordersMaintain up-to-date inventory records in the company's systemsConduct daily maintenance of the pipe yard to ensure cleanliness and organizationPerform general warehouse maintenance, including trash removal and facility upkeep4. Administrative SupportAnswer phones, respond to emails, and perform data entry into ERP and other systemsMaintain accurate expense documentationAssist with billing and invoice creation as needed5.
