Job Title: Lab AnalystLocation: Baton Rouge, LouisianaType: 9 Month ContractPay: $28.00/hr-$30.00/hrSchedule: 12-Hour Rotating Schedule (every other weekend off)Clearance: TWIC required for this siteOverviewThe Laboratory Technician in Baton Rouge, LA is responsible for using analytical methods to provide prompt and accurate testing of wastewater and hazardous waste samples per EPA and LA DEQ regulatory protocol.ResponsibilitiesPerform duties associated with quality assurance, special projects, method development, and non-routine analytical and administrative assignmentsProvide analytical support for plant personnel on a day-to-day basisConduct analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances for purposes such as product and process application, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologiesPerform analysis of finished products, in-process samples, raw materials, and wastewater in compliance with SOPs and HS&E policies and proceduresMaintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipmentSupport process improvement initiatives and analytical projectsComplete safety and analytical equipment inspections dailyManage laboratory waste and assist with hazardous waste disposalGenerate Certificates of Analysis and report results accordinglyShip laboratory samples as neededWrite work orders and purchase laboratory suppliesParticipate in safety meetings and report safety concernsFollow all safety procedures including PPE, LOTO, and hazardous waste handlingRequirements1+ years in chemical process industry with a focus on laboratory environment and analytical proceduresNew graduates encouraged to applyBachelor of Science in science or technical related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of ion chromatography, wet chemistry techniques, ICP, and wastewater analysesAbility to lift and carry testing equipment within production areasStrong communication skills with all levels of plant personnelAbility to multi-task and manage assignments in a matrix environmentExcellent interpersonal skills for team collaborationFollow safety protocols and report incidentsSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
