General Mechanic (Commercial Fleet & Auto)Location: Baton Rouge, LAPosition Type: Full-Time, Long-Term PermanentSchedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMPay Rate: $15.00 – $25.00 / hour (Based on Experience)Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and dependable General Mechanic to join a locally owned repair shop in Baton Rouge. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of passenger vehicles and commercial fleet vehicles. We are looking for an independent worker who takes pride in their craft and is looking for a long-term, permanent career opportunity.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire repairs, and fluid flushes.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues across various vehicle makes and models.Replace components such as water pumps, belts, hoses, brakes, and other mechanical parts.Maintain commercial fleet vehicles to ensure safety and operational reliability.Work independently to manage daily repair orders and meet turn-around times.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 5 years of automotive repair/mechanic experience required.Tools: Must own a personal, comprehensive tool set (Non-negotiable).Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to perform complex mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.Work Ethic: Highly dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision.Pre-Employment Screening: Pre-employment background check and drug screen will be conducted following the initial client interview.
