The Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) performs functions of the state relative to the examination and licensing of operators of motor vehicles, the suspension and revocation of such licenses, issuance of vehicle title and registration certificates, license plates for all motor vehicles operated upon the highways of the state, recordation of liens against vehicles, and the collection of sales/use tax and other appropriate fees, all in accordance with applicable laws.
About this position: The Office of Motor Vehicles Administrative Program Specialist B is responsible for coordinating and managing OMV's statewide Property Control, Fleet, and Safety Programs. The position develops, implements, and revises necessary procedures for all areas of focus under the supervision of the Statewide Program Manager 1 in the Project Management Office (PMO). The incumbent of this position should have knowledge of the OTS billing and the property inventory processes, including use of LaGov. The incumbent of this position should also have broad knowledge of the Louisiana Property Assistance Agency. Necessary qualities include efficiency, organization, attention to detail, professionalism, proactivity, and the ability to work independently.
An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies: accepting direction, demonstrating accountability, and following policies and procedures.
Minimum qualifications include four years of experience in administrative services; or six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; or a bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; or an advanced degree. Experience substitution is allowed.
Job duties include performing responsible duties related to the operation, coordination, and management of Inventory Control, Safety, and Fleet Operations; establishing, implementing, and revising program standards and guidelines as necessary; accurately and timely entering information into LAGOV and other relevant systems; coordinating and managing the statewide Property Control, Fleet, and Safety Programs for the Office of Motor Vehicles; developing, implementing, and revising necessary procedures across all areas of focus under the supervision of the Statewide Program Manager 1 in the Project Management Office (PMO); maintaining knowledge of OTS billing and property inventory processes, including the use of LaGov; and staying informed about the operations of the Louisiana Property Assistance Agency.
Position-specific details include a probational or job appointment, a work schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and compensation determined based on qualifications and experience.
