What We're Looking For:
• Passion for delivering excellent customer service and patient care.
• Experience in patient access, intake, or registration within a healthcare environment.
• Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Prior experience in insurance or patient registration required; one year of higher education or coding certification may substitute for experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required; higher education preferred.
• Ability to enter data using multiple computer applications.
• Excellent telephone and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Commitment to upholding regulatory, legal, and ethical standards.
• Ability to manage time and resources effectively, with a focus on cost management and safety.

What You Will Do:
• Provide excellent customer service during the patient access/intake process, supporting efficiency, cost reduction, and service improvement throughout the revenue cycle.
• Facilitate patient safety with accurate and timely patient identification, following all policies and procedures.
• Complete patient access functions (pre-registration, registration, collections) confidentially, accurately, and efficiently.
• Initiate quick registration processes in emergent or urgent care situations.
• Register patients to correct locations and beds per physician orders and maintain compliance with payer documentation.
• Communicate with insurance representatives to promote continuity in pre-certification and insurance verification.
• Request, collect, and receive co-payments, deposits, and payments, maintaining and securing cash drawers per financial policy.
• Activate accounts and disseminate records according to standard procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives.
• Demonstrate effective cost management and safety practices at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
