Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
• Provides customer service to applicants, clients, and professional staff by greeting visitors, answering telephone inquiries, assessing client needs, and directing individuals to appropriate resources.
• Conducts applicant and client interviews and gathers initial information to assess potential eligibility for assistance programs and support services.
• Researches client records and processes case-related transactions using multiple automated systems, including address changes, benefit verifications, parish transfers, and Electronic Benefit Card issuance and replacements.
• Assists Social Services Analysts with eligibility determinations by obtaining required verifications, documentation, and case information and monitoring case listings for timely completion and return.
• Provides clerical and administrative support, including maintaining case records, processing mail and faxes, compiling reports, managing office calendars and supplies, and maintaining property and inventory records.
• Supports office operations by responding to client inquiries, monitoring Fair Hearing Requests, managing the office email, assisting with payroll and budget functions, tracking expenditures, and completing required data entry.
• Maintains knowledge of program policies and procedures through ongoing training and participates in Disaster SNAP and emergency management preparedness activities to support disaster response operations.
