About this Job
The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the veteran population of Louisiana by providing medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Administrative Coordinator to serve as the liaison for the Medical Records Department.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Medical Records Administrative Coordinator:

  • Compiles and maintain reports monthly for the Census.
  • Review the report for demographics, compile war time and peace time veterans for compliance.
  • Prepare daily reports such as initial hospital list, leave of absence, daily report, VA midnight census, SFMC hospital list and
    distribute to various department.
  • Transcribes all physicians' orders to database.
  • Files and prepares pertinent medical information on the active medical record located on the nursing units.
  • Prepares medical record information for release to the resident, an authorized representative or any other outside entity when
    an official request is made.

Compensation: The pay rate for this position is based on the credentials of the applicant and applicants are strongly encouraged to enter all relevant job experience on the application prior to submission.

Location: This position is located in the Medical Records department at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Monroe, LA.
