The Railcar Technician is responsible for conducting all aspects of repair and maintenance on tank cars, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.Responsibilities Perform railcar repairs using current procedures.Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with AAR rules and regulations.Provide customer support to meet expectations and ensure satisfaction.Handle clerical tasks, including invoicing, inspection records, and work order information.Maintain certifications, such as tank car welding, and keep certifications current.Assist with other related tasks as assigned.Qualifications High school diploma or GED.Mechanical aptitude and strong problem‑solving skills.Proficiency with hand tools (pipe wrenches, pry bars, wrenches, ratchets, etc.).Ability to perform basic railcar repairs and inspections.Excellent customer‑relations and teamwork skills.Willingness to work in all weather conditions.Valid driver's license.Welding background is a plus.Physical Requirements Stoop for extended periods and move between kneeling and standing positions.Wear a respirator.Lift up to 50 pounds from the ground.Climb ladders and work at elevated heights.Work in confined spaces.Pass the company physical exam.Benefits Tuition reimbursement program.Medical, dental, and vision coverage.Company‑paid employee and dependent life insurance.Company‑paid sickness and accident income.401(k) matching.Annual safety shoe reimbursement and prescription safety wear.Holiday pay.Vacation.Marmon employee discount program.Starting pay: $24.08 per hour.EEO Statement We are an equal opportunity employer.
