It's a craft.QualificationsAbility to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Ability to set up, operate, and adjust a variety of manual machine tools to produce parts from blueprints.Ability to read and interpret mechanical manufacturing blueprints.Proven capability to hold tight tolerances of 0.001 and achieve required surface finishes.Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.Proficiency or ability to quickly learn precision measurement tools such as micrometers, depth micrometers, and dial indicators.Strong attendance record and demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.High school diploma or GED required.8+ years of manual machining experience, including manual engine lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and surface grinders.Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, composite materials, and hard‑coated components.Horizontal mill experience preferred.Lean manufacturing experience preferred.BenefitsSolid Weekly Pay. We don't mess around.Safety built into every shift.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual machining equipment used for milling, turning, threading, and related operations.Read and interpret work orders to determine proper work centers, materials, and tooling.Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, jaws, chucks, and cutting tools as required.Use precision measuring instruments—including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and specialized gauges—to verify tolerances and ensure machining accuracy.Perform deburring and cleaning processes following machining operations.Train and mentor other employees on machining tools, methods, and safe operations.Return tooling, report issues, and maintain accurate communication regarding material or tooling concerns.Maintain safe working practices, including correct use of lathe guards, chuck guards, and required PPE.Tired of searching?
