Westaff has a temp opening for a Lab Assistant for a great company in Port Allen.

Hours would be Tuesday - Friday 5am - 3:30pm.

Duties:

• Working in a quality lab setting as well as on the plant floor.
• Pulling samples from packaging lines, examining bags and comparing them to spec sheets, then performing multiple quality tests in the quality lab.
• Must have knowledge of technology - being able to use computers and ipads, and will need to be able to operate testing equipment - some of which involves mixing chemicals.
• Must be able to follow SOPs/work instructions on how to perform tests, follow all GMPs at all times, and communicate to the QA team of any out of spec results.
• Responsible for cleaning tasks in the lab and in the retain area on the plant floor.

Computer and Tablet experience. Some food production helpful. Lab experience helpful.
