Description:

HGA is hiring a Civil/Structural Engineer in Baton Rouge, LA. The Civil/Structural Engineer (CSA) position is a direct‑hire role based at HGA's Baton Rouge, LA office. We are seeking qualified candidates to support and lead civil/structural engineering efforts across projects.Key ResponsibilitiesOversees and is responsible for all CSA technical aspects of projectsLeads project teams as the lead engineer and coordinates design effortsDevelops calculations, design drawings, and supports field work activitiesAssesses project requirements, defines scope, and breaks work into executable tasksSupports scope development, budgeting, and staffing coordination with engineering teamsPrepares engineering studies and schematic designs for new systemsAnalyzes performance and operation of existing systemsReviews and verifies all technical calculations and drawings for accuracyWrites detailed scopes of work based on client meetings and preliminary reviewsPrepares or reviews construction cost estimates based on project scopeMaintains communication across disciplines to ensure schedule and budget alignmentManages project manhour budgets and schedulesGenerates and maintains discipline‑specific documentation for project communicationRequired QualificationsStrong knowledge of engineering design principles, codes, and standardsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredMinimum 10+ years of experience in civil/structural design and calculations (steel and reinforced concrete)Proficiency with design codes and standards including AISC, ACI, IBC, ASCE 7, and related specificationsExperience working within a consulting engineering firm environmentAbility to generate structural calculations (foundations and steel systems)Proven experience managing multi‑discipline engineering projectsStrong understanding of engineering design and construction processesAdvanced skills in engineering management, communication, and client relationship managementAbility to perform site visits and gather field data at operating plants or construction sitesAbility to climb ladders and work at elevated heights; must have clear vision and ability to focusProficiency in STAAD Pro, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and WindowsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD 2018 and 3D modeling is a plusMust reside within daily commuting distance of Baton Rouge, LAEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled#J-18808-Ljbffr
