Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a full-time hybrid position based in the Baton Rouge office. This role is responsible for ensuring the administrative health of the company's receivables throughout their lifecycle, performing a range of tasks to support successful billing and collection. Additionally, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will lead initiatives to drive collections and expedite billing. This position reports to the Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar or related capacity.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or other related degrees is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek products, or other project-based software preferred but not required.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work independently and consistently achieve deadlines.
  • Demonstrates initiative and holds oneself accountable for results.
  • Experience with managing competing priorities and responding effectively to change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with billing and financial reporting tasks to support department operations.
  • Performs accounts receivable duties, including billing, collections, and resolving payment discrepancies.
  • Prepares and issues a high volume of invoices to clients.
  • Updates and maintains data in the company's ERP system to support billing and collections.
  • Identifies issues in billing or collections processes and reports them to leadership for improvement.
  • Assists with solving payment and receivable discrepancies.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Employee is regularly required to stand, sit, or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • May have to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This is a hybrid role (work from home/office), so the work environment will vary based on the incumbent's choice of workspace.
  • Vision abilities required to perform this job include the ability to view and respond to visual and written materials via a computer screen.
