This position supports the daily movement of materials by receiving shipments, maintaining inventory stock levels, fulfilling supply requests, and assisting with warehouse and logistics functions. The role emphasizes supply chain operations, inventory control, and materials handling to ensure departments across the School of Veterinary Medicine receive required supplies in a timely manner.Job Responsibilities:30% Accept incoming deliveries from transportation vendors and verify shipments using packing documentation. Sort and stage packages by department and record receipt in the tracking system to generate delivery notifications. Ensure temperature-sensitive shipments are stored appropriately. Transport received freight to designated storage locations and deliver supplies and equipment to departments within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and the School of Veterinary Medicine. Monitor shipment size and notify Facilities management when pallets exceed safety guidelines.30% Maintain inventory stock levels by restocking items in their assigned warehouse locations using inventory management software. Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures when placing new inventory into stock. Retrieve items from storage shelves to fulfill electronic supply orders or in-person requests from hospital departments. Record inventory transactions within the system to ensure accurate tracking of materials issued.15% Receive and process patient cremains and associated belongings in accordance with established handling procedures. Prepare materials for shipment when requested and coordinate communication with owners regarding completion of cremation processing.10% Support periodic inventory counts by assisting with physical stock verification and documenting discrepancies. Participate in identifying expired or unusable materials and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed.5% Assist with basic upkeep of departmental fleet vehicles by supporting routine inspections and coordinating maintenance tasks such as oil changes as needed.5% Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to unload freight shipments and transport materials.
