Under general supervision, the HVAC Plumber/ Pipefitter Master at LSU is responsible for the fabrication, installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of piping systems used in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and building mechanical infrastructure throughout the campus. This includes steam, condensate, chilled water, domestic hot/cold water, compressed air, and other utility piping systems. The role requires reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings, using precision tools and equipment (welders, pipe threaders, benders, etc.), and ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards and university policies. Additionally, the HVAC Pipefitter may assist with emergency response, preventive maintenance programs, and coordination with other trades, contractors and departmental staff.
