This role is responsible for managing the physical flow of incoming and outgoing materials by coordinating freight receipt, storage, internal delivery, and shipment of supplies and equipment. The position requires experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory handling, and safe material transport.Job Responsibilities:30% Receive incoming freight and deliveries from transportation vendors and verify shipments against accompanying documentation. Sort and stage packages for appropriate departments and scan items into the tracking system to document receipt and generate delivery notifications. Ensure temperature-sensitive materials are properly stored upon arrival and identify packages designated for hospital supply distribution or departmental delivery.30% Transport supplies, equipment, and freight from the dock to designated storage areas or departmental locations within the veterinary school, including the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and associated departments. Stage and organize incoming materials within the warehouse environment. Monitor pallet size and notify Facilities management when shipments exceed established safety thresholds.10% Coordinate outgoing shipments by communicating with transportation carriers to arrange pickups and deliveries. Prepare shipments for transport, including packaging and shipping documentation. Provide order confirmations and packing documentation to the Business Office as required.10% Assist with maintaining warehouse stock by rotating inventory, relocating overstock items, and supporting periodic inventory counts. Identify expired or compromised materials and follow established procedures for disposal and replacement.5% Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to unload freight and transport materials. Follow all institutional safety procedures related to equipment operation and hazardous material handling.5% Prepare outgoing packages for shipment, including labeling and documentation. Ensure temperature-sensitive shipments are handled appropriately. Manage shipping and receipt of materials associated with the ink cartridge recycling program.5% Assist with supply fulfillment by retrieving stock items based on departmental requests. Deliver supplies throughout the hospital and clinic areas and assist with replenishing designated supply storage units when needed.5% Contribute to the efficiency and organization of the warehouse and freight dock operations by performing related duties as assigned and supporting departmental logistics needs.
