The Department of French Studies in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences at Louisiana State University is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Black French Thought, broadly construed. The ideal candidate will have a background in philosophy/literary theory and will demonstrate a sustained interest in the problems raised by contemporary African and Continental philosophy with respect to the history, politics, religion, and esthetics of Francophone African, Afropean, and diasporic communities. We invite a broad array of scholarly orientations and projects, and we are seeking a scholar who is able to make connections across a broad array of on-campus units, including AAAS, Geography and Anthropology, Philosophy and Religion, WGSS, Comparative Literature, and English.
