Position: Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager

Location: Plaquemine, LA (Onsite)

Duration: 2 months contract

Pay Rate range: $48/hour on W2 - $50/hour on W2 (No per diem)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced EH&S Manager to lead and support environmental, health, and safety compliance and programs at a manufacturing/industrial site. This role will be responsible for driving EH&S performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting a strong safety culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of EH&S management systems and programs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations
  • Manage environmental programs including air, water, and waste compliance
  • Support and lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Oversee permit management, including regulatory permits and internal work permits
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and compliance initiatives
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and gap assessments to ensure program effectiveness
  • Develop and deliver EH&S training programs for employees and contractors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
  • Maintain EH&S documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Act as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and compliance matters

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of EH&S experience in manufacturing, chemical, refinery, or industrial environments

Strong knowledge of:

  • OSHA regulations
  • Environmental compliance (air, water, waste)
  • Experience with:
  • Incident investigation & root cause analysis
  • Audits and inspections
  • EH&S program implementation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001
  • Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Prior experience in chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
