Senior Electrical Designer (Contract)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to support capital project work with a strong emphasis on instrumentation and low-voltage electrical systems (120–220V and below). This role is ideal for an experienced designer who can work independently, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality electrical and instrumentation design packages throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical and instrumentation design deliverables for capital projects
• Produce and revise design documents, including:
• Instrumentation layouts
• Wiring diagrams and schematics
• Cable schedules and termination drawings
• Support equipment layout development and 3D model coordination
• Interface with engineering, project management, and construction teams
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
• Participate in design reviews and efficiently incorporate feedback
• Support field changes and as-built documentation as required

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in electrical design, preferably on capital projects
• Strong background in instrumentation and low-voltage electrical systems (120–220V and below)
• Proficiency with:
• AutoCAD
• AVEVA / InTools (Invivo)
• PDMS
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality documentation
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
