About the Role:

The Shipping and Receiving Technician is responsible for coordinating the accurate and efficient movement of materials in and out of the warehouse. This role ensures products are properly received, stored, and shipped while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting daily warehouse operations. The position works closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and operations teams to ensure timely deliveries and proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, move, and store materials safely.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and staging orders for delivery.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records using internal computer systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed for all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas to ensure efficient product flow and safety.
  • Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments to support timely shipments and deliveries.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory tracking to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse best practices.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education or training beyond high school is preferred.
  • Forklift experience required; certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or shipping systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
