Luminary is seeking a Production Technician to join our talented team in the design and fabrication of multiple projects across the experiential design and technology integration industries. The Production Technician will be responsible for fabrication & installation, operating and maintaining the shop, and managing quality control. Candidates are expected to possess a high level of technical knowledge and general shop knowledge and high proficiency in woodworking and metal working. Experience with 3D printing and CNC operation is a bonus. This full-time position is located in Baton Rouge, LA. Please submit resumes and any other information deemed relevant for application.

Roles & Responsibilities

FABRICATION & INSTALLATION:

• Understand the complex path from concept to creation across all projects.
• Collaborate with team members to establish order of operations, sequencing, and execution strategy.
• Manage and enforce fabrication schedules and milestone accountability.
• Oversee all non-technical material and hardware procurement in collaboration with administrative coordinator.
• Proactively maintain inventories of critical project materials and implement proper storage methods.
• Manage fabrication subcontractors and ensure that their work meets Luminary standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in woodworking, metalworking, MIG welding, TIG welding, and finishing.
• Execute hands-on builds, including multi-disciplinary fabrication, assembly, and finishing.
• Create custom jigs, fixtures, and systems to improve efficiency and maintain multi-unit consistency.
• Interpret fabrication drawings, sketches, and technical specifications to execute precise builds.
• Prepare materials and components for fabrication, assembly, and finishing through all production stages.
• Develop manufacturing strategies and V-Carve cutting programs for CNC operations.
• Operate CNC machinery, including tool setup, material loading, program monitoring, and safe operation.
• Procure all materials and supplies required for crate fabrication and tool organization.
• Oversee the fabrication, handling, and rigging of all crates, pallets, and fixtures.
• Oversee unloading, staging, and placement of fabricated elements on-site.
• Assist with on-site installation efforts, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to plan

MANAGE the MAKETUARY:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and highly functional shop environment that supports efficient production.
• Continuously assess and improve shop organization, workflows, and storage systems to elevate the Maketuary.
• Maintain, repair, and coordinate servicing for all tools, equipment, and fabrication machinery.
• Ensure safe, proper, and proficient operation of all shop tools and equipment.
• Plan, manage, and execute facility maintenance, upgrades, and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain organization across the office, shop, warehouse, and storage unit.

QUALITY CONTROL & LUMINARY STANDARDS:

• Execute fabrication and installation work with consistent attention to detail, accuracy, and finish quality.
• Manage quality control throughout the fabrication and installation process.
• Communicate fit-and-finish expectations clearly to subcontractors.
• Hold subcontractors accountable to scope, schedule, and Luminary quality standards; proactively resolve issues.
• Protect finished surfaces and components during fabrication, handling, shipping, and installation.
• Perform on-site quality inspections during installation and manage punch-list and closeout documentation.
• Ensure all delivered work upholds the Luminary standard of excellence at every stage of the process.
