Description:

Billy Heroman's Flowerland is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to lead our talent acquisition efforts and oversee core HR operations. This role is designed for a proactive recruiter who will be sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding the best talent in the floral and retail industry while ensuring team members are supported through effective training, benefits administration, and consistent policy.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Recruiting

  • Full-Cycle Recruiting: Lead the charge in sourcing, interviewing, and hiring qualified applicants for all open positions, ensuring new hires meet the standards and criteria for each position,
  • Onboarding & Orientation: Conduct new team member orientations to foster a positive culture and ensure the accurate completion of all new hire documentation.
  • Recruitment Events: Coordinate and lead external recruiting events and internal appreciation lunches or parties to build employer brand awareness.
  • Training & Coaching: Coordinate internal and external training programs, monitor their effectiveness, and assist management with career development and performance feedback.
  • Employee Relations: Administer employee recognition, grievance processes, and coaching programs to maintain a supportive work environment.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Payroll & HRIS: Responsible for the management of the payroll function and the maintenance of the HRIS system.
  • Benefits Administration
    Coordinate compensation and benefit programs, including open enrollment, wage surveys, and personnel action forms.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and implement HR policies in accordance with OSHA, EEOC, and wage and hour regulations.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Participate in the safety committee, monitor worker's compensation and unemployment claims, and maintain accurate employee files.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • College Degree required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources management with a heavy emphasis on recruiting.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with an HRIS.
  • Strong understanding of government employment laws; experience in retail or related industries is a significant plus.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written skills with the ability to clarify and resolve team member concerns.
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee data and relations.
  • Detail-oriented professional capable of prioritizing departmental deadlines and managing complex schedules.
  • Proactive approach to identifying, preventing, and resolving workplace issues.
