The Export Control Specialist supports Louisiana State University's mission to foster a culture of compliance and advance research and innovation, while ensuring compliance with federal export control regulations. This position is responsible for the administration, coordination, and management of activities related to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions. The Export Control Specialist will develop and implement policies, assess research and collaborations for compliance risk, and advise faculty, staff, and administrators on complex export control issues to enable compliant global research engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree, Ph.D., or J.D. from an accredited institution A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education administration or federally funded research compliance. Familiarity with research security, controlled unclassified information (CUI), and federal contract requirements (e.g., DFARS, NIST 800-171) and H1B visa clearance. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to provide guidance on complex regulatory issues.
