School Food Service -CAFETERIA MANAGERLocation: Site Level SchoolReports To: Principal and Child Nutrition Program CoordinatorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSalary Range: Per WBR Salary ScheduleTerms of Employment: 9 Months/185 daysGENERAL OVERVIEWUnder the direction of the Principal and the Child Nutrition Program Coordinator, the School Food Service Cafeteria Manager plans, coordinates and directs the cooking and serving of student and teacher meals at the school site, and is responsible for related functions and cafeteria safety. The School Food Service Manager supervises the School Food Service Technicians.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES* Inventories, orders, and manages all food items and related supplies* Collects and deposits monies and keeps appropriate records* Trains employees on procedures and practices in keeping with established guidelines of the WBRSS School Food Service Department* Trains and evaluates employees* Assists with the orientation of new workers* Prepares and enters appropriate documentation and data relative to Free and Reduces Lunch guidelines and policy* Checks food quality during preparation and service* Provides estimates, orders foods and supplies* Prepares monthly accounting reports for Food Service* Assists in performing basic first aid and reporting of accidents* Receives and responds to complaints about food service* Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers* Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance.* Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service* Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system* Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or other proper authorityMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years of work experience in the preparation of food with at least one (1) year in a supervisory position or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must complete a CPR course and School Food Service Manager Certification.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe School Food Services Manager must be able to perform these physical activities: standing, walking, reaching bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.NOTEThis job description is subject to change at any time.
