We're looking for a Human Resources B, C, Specialist to serve as the first point of contact at the agency, creating a welcoming environment and provide consistent HR support.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years of human resources experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus one year of human resources experience; OR
A bachelor's degree plus one year of human resources experience; OR
An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Human Resources Analyst/Specialist, you'll help create a positive impression for every person who requires HR assistance. In this role, you will:
Greet visitors, and staff with kindness and professionalism ; Maintain exceptional level of customer service
Review hiring documents, enter employees into various systems , verify information, and assist with completing any additional paperwork
Answer incoming calls, route messages, and provide requested information about agency/state services
Coordinate and update systems according to chosen employee options to keep things running smoothly
Work with retirement, benefit, and state systems to ensure balances, deductions, etc. are accurate and timely
Support the HR team through cross training and regular check-ins with supervisor
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Human Resources Analyst B, C, or Specialist depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Hourly: $22.10 – $43.37
Monthly: $3,831 – $7,518
Annually: $45,968 – $90,210
Human Resources Specialist(AS-617)
Hourly: $23.65 – $46.41
Monthly: $4,099 – $8,044
Annually: $49,192 – $96,533
Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
