We are seeking dedicated Cruise Ship Housekeepers for the 2026 season. In this temporary position, you will play a key role in providing exceptional hospitality and proudly represent our brand for 28 weeks.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests.
  • Ensure the comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship.
  • Greet guests by name and promptly address all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to our service standards.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
  • Organize inventory and restock linen and supplies efficiently.
  • Manage spills with appropriate cleaning techniques and communicate necessary maintenance requests to management.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash.
  • Clean upholstered furniture and lounge spaces diligently.
  • Build genuine relationships with our guests and cater to all housekeeping requests effectively.
  • Assist in greeting guests upon embarkation and contribute to special events such as afternoon tea and evening cocktail parties.

Qualifications:

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder. All candidates must be able to perform job functions with or without accommodation.

In accordance with Federal Law and the Department of Transportation, all shipboard employees will undergo pre-employment drug testing for Marijuana and other controlled substances. To ensure safe service to our guests, alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited. Additionally, shipboard employees may have emergency and safety duties that are included in your training.

American Cruise Lines has grooming standards that include limitations on visible tattoos and piercings. This employment is temporary, lasting no more than 28 weeks onboard. We encourage you to leverage the skills you gain to pursue management opportunities, though such positions are not guaranteed.

Work Schedule:

  • Work 7 days a week while onboard for a period of up to 28 weeks.
  • This is a temporary role with no assurance of future employment.
  • Position is full-time and nonexempt.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to adapt to constant motion aboard a ship, which experiences various forces from wind, waves, and currents.
  • Willingness to work around 12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to assist during onboard emergencies, such as quickly climbing a ladder and navigating through a 20" diameter hatch.
  • Ability to stand for the entirety of your shift.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to frequently bend, squat, and reach.
  • Ability to live and work onboard for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using stairs regularly.
