We are looking for a Corrections Guard Therapeutic to join our security team - a proactive, people-oriented, goal-minded and focused team that drives our mission forward. The Corrections Guard Therapeutic plays a key role in the smooth operation of the security department. This position works closely with residents and employees. Assisting each with different tasks on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months of experience in a forensic, behavioral, correctional, or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, clinical care or rehabilitation of offenders.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Corrections Guard Therapeutic you will be responsible for:
- Checking identification of persons seeking access to the facility, providing direction, information and assistance in a helpful and tactful manner
- Following facility policies in controlling and preventing contraband on facility grounds
- Performing security checks of facility grounds, all buildings and parking lots periodically, referring problems to proper authority
- Answering the Villa Feliciana Medical Complex main phone line and transferring or directing all calls
- Transporting residents to appointments
- Responding to security calls when necessary
- Performing other related duties in order to maintain smooth operation of the facility
