Job Summary:

As a Meat Processing Specialist, you will be responsible for processing meat products, fulfilling special customer requests, and maintaining well-stocked market and seafood cases. Your commitment to customer service will help us provide an exceptional experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process meat by trimming fat and ensuring proper thickness and size through cutting, grinding, and tenderizing.
  • Cut, weigh, package, and label products, using both precision and non-precision tools to meet customer demands.
  • Prepare machinery for operation and conduct quality checks to ensure food safety standards are met.
  • Inspect products for quality and ensure adherence to governmental labeling requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary workspace in accordance with company safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to handle sharp tools safely and operate department equipment effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Flexibility to learn new systems and maintain a proactive safety approach.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old; 21 years required for driving company vehicles.
  • High school diploma or GED with at least one year of related experience.
  • Food Handler certification is mandatory.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to see, stand, walk, and use hands continuously throughout shifts.
  • Capability to lift and maneuver products weighing up to 75 lbs, with occasional lifts up to 100 lbs.
Work Context and Environment:
  • Work is primarily performed in a retail setting.
  • Exposure to sharp equipment, cold environments, and potentially slippery surfaces.
