Job Position: Maintenance Technician - Shell Catalysts Turnaround (Weld Crew Night Shift 6p-6a)

Description: AMMON Staffing is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to support a turnaround project at the Shell Catalysts facility in Port Allen, LA. This role focuses on repetitive mechanical tasks supporting belt dryer repairs, including chain link replacement/bolting, installation of slats and scrapers, and door gasket replacement. Technicians must be dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working 12-hour shifts in a controlled industrial environment.
Shift / Schedule: Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) | 12-hour shifts | turnaround schedule may run up to 7×12s.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical turnaround work on belt dryer equipment under direct supervision/lead direction.
Replace chain links and hardware, including removal/installation of bolts, pins, and fasteners.
Install/replace slats and scrapers per direction and sequence.
Remove and replace gaskets on doors, ensuring proper seating and sealing surfaces are clean/prepped.
Use hand tools and power tools safely (impact, torque tools, grinders where allowed, etc.).
Assist with equipment access and reassembly tasks (removing/installing covers/guards as permitted).
Stage materials and maintain organization of parts/hardware to support production pace.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE and housekeeping expectations.
Participate in pre-task planning/JSA and comply with all safety rules, including permit/process requirements.
Requirements
Prior industrial or plant maintenance experience (turnaround experience preferred).
Comfortable with repetitive bolt-up/mechanical tasks and working at a steady pace.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work as part of a crew.
Safety Alliance Basic Orientation Plus required.
Confined Space Entry (CSE) required (must be current).
Must complete Shell Catalysts & Technologies site orientation (via Safety Alliance).
Physically able to stand for long periods, climb ladders/stairs, and lift/carry typical tools/materials.
Required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves, and any additional site-required PPE.
Nice to Have
Bolt-up/torque familiarity, gasket replacement experience, conveyor/belt equipment exposure.
Scaffold access experience (no erection-working from/around scaffolds as directed).
