The specific goal of the Residential Guard is to maintain control of the residence halls and provide for the general welfare and safety of the students. Maintain a wholesome atmosphere of the office, give a general security and supervision of the residence hall during the night, attend to the needs of the students and make proper referrals. Responsible for general atmosphere of the office, lounge, and corridor area. Remind students of the rules and regulations of residence hall.

Minimum Qualifications

No experience or training is required.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Applicants may be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Provie safety checks of corridors.

  • Call Campus Police as needed.

  • Assists sick students in getting to the infirmary or hospital.

  • Keeping information confidential.

  • Receive and assist visitors.

  • Chaperone and assist with school or student social functions.

  • Maintain curfew.

  • Provide hourly fire watch.
