Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in Port Allen, LA. This full-semester contract position involves working with a self-contained caseload, providing tailored educational support to enhance learning outcomes for students with special needs. The role starts as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for middle school students with diverse learning needs.
• Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by educational standards and regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in special education.
• Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, and instructional strategies.
• Ability to create a positive, supportive learning environment.

Schedule:

• Full-time for the duration of one semester, starting ASAP through the end of the school year.
