Maintenance Repairer 2

The State of Louisiana, Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law-abiding citizens. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Repairer 2 to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks at one of its secure care facilities or administrative offices. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and well-kept environments for youth and staff. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in general maintenance and a commitment to public service.

Job duties include:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems
  • Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks as needed
  • Conduct inspections and identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
  • Operate hand and power tools, machinery, and vehicles as required
  • Maintain grounds, including mowing, landscaping, and basic exterior upkeep
  • Respond to work orders and emergency repair requests in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials used, and time spent
  • Follow safety protocols and agency procedures at all times

Appointment type: Full time, probational

The incumbent of this position must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c).
