Volt is immediately hiring a Machinist in Gonzales, LA 70737
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others.
- Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
- Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.
- Crosstrain on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow including but not limited to engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
- Must understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.
- Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) per part drawings.
- Potential for field assignments using in-line machine. Some travel may be required.
- Adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.
For This Role, You Will Need: - Mechanical related Associates degree or experience with machining and fabricating is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills are a must.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: - Mechanical related Associates degree or 5+ years of experience with machining and fabricating.
- Welding knowledge preferred.
- Experience in the process control industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, and/or CAM software is preferred.:
- Manual lathe and milling experience.
- CNC lathe and milling experience.
- GD&T and print interpretation
- Procedure use and adherence.
- Proficient with G-code.
- Proficient with FANUC.
- Prepared to work in fast paced job shop environment with a high mix of different parts.

Pay Range:? $35/hr. - $37/hr.
