This position is responsible for processing all release of information requests in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. Associate must at all times safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient's medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with the request, authorization, company policy and HIPAA regulations.

Essential functions include: completing release of information requests, date stamping all requests, validating requests, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, providing excellent customer service, receiving incoming requests, maintaining a neat and professional appearance, maintaining a clean and orderly work area, maintaining working knowledge of state laws, working within scope of position, maintaining confidentiality, and working with privileged information.

Qualifications include: high school diploma, prior experience in a medical records department, strong computer software experience, excellent organizational skills, ability to type 50 wpm, ability to use fax, copier, scanning machine, willingness to learn new equipment and processes quickly, self-motivation, team player, proven customer satisfaction skills, and ability to multi-task.
