Division: Within the Health Information Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA
The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana
ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and positive individual to join our team as a Health Information Coordinator!
One year of experience in administrative services; OR
One year of training in or completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum from a business school or technical institute.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the required general experience.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
Job Duties:
* Transcribe competency evaluations, integrated summaries, status letter to the court, physician progress notes, psychiatric evaluations, discharge summaries, neurological, psychosocial and pass/excursion letters from Olympus as dictated by physicians and social workers.
* Enters patient information into Patient Information Program (PIP) Transcription Microsoft Access Database, which consists of various components.
* Assembles data from various sources, transcribe from dictation, typed from draft, etc (i.e. court letters, six-month status letters, 90-day review, Physician's report to court, etc.
* Participate in educational trainings that are mandatory for accreditation and licensure of the facility.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: The position may be filled as a 4 year Job Appointment.
Compensation: This position has a Minimum Hire Rate: $1,200.80 bi-weekly/ $15.01 hourly.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Health Information Coordinator 1, 2, or 3 depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
