Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a leading manufacturing company in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering the chance to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will play a key part in managing accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Handle administrative and clerical tasks for the Accounts Payable and Finance Department.
• Perform daily accounts payable processes with precision and adherence to company policies.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal business partners and external stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing necessary documentation and assistance.
• Manage incoming department mail by sorting, opening, and distributing it efficiently.
• Organize and maintain records by sorting, logging, photocopying, and filing invoices, checks, and other financial documents.
• Verify and process checks, including expediting special handling when required.
• Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems such as SAP.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working with technical and financial teams.
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes, including account coding and invoice management.
• Knowledge of payment methods such as ACH and check runs.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
