Description:

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently working on a Math Department Chair position for the 2026-2027 school year at a co-ed Christian School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.


As a Christian school the successful candidate will be able to integrate Biblical principles into their teaching, demonstrating a commitment to Christian education and the development of the whole child. Ideal candidates should inspire and lead our Math department in the middle and upper schools.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee curriculum development, ensure high-quality instruction, and use data analysis to monitor student progress.
  • Mentor staff and support student growth, often with a focus on fostering talent and commitment to teaching.
  • Foster a collaborative environment in which faculty work together to deliver a dynamic, innovative, and high-quality academic program.
  • Handle departmental operations, which may include managing staff, budgets, and departmental events.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching high school mathematics.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Positive, flexible, and growth-oriented mindset.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion in teaching practices.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and employ varied teaching strategies.
