The Rigger Helper will assist skilled craftsperson(s) by performing supportive duties as directed and will work under immediate supervision. Rigging activities must be conducted under the direct supervision of a qualified rigger. Will often perform runner functions within crew and assist in the layout and measuring of materials for installation. Will need basic knowledge of complex rigging, heavy rigging, change crane boom and cable, electrical safety, ladder and scaffold safety, introduction to lifting machinery, wire rope basics, basic rigging, fire prevention, sizing of chokers, load charts, cutting torches, and blueprint reading. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
