What We're Looking For:

• Dependable, motivated, and capable of working independently under minimal supervision
• Ability to lift, carry, and transport various weights of respiratory equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse population of patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Completion of Respiratory Fundamentals and in good academic standing
• Demonstrated understanding of infection control, patient safety, and equipment hygiene procedures

What You Will Do:

Support Respiratory Therapists in delivering high-quality patient care in alignment with department goals and safety protocols.

• Maintain cleanliness and serviceability of respiratory equipment, ensuring all gear is sterile and functional
• Transport respiratory equipment to and from care areas, communicating status and following safety and infection control procedures
• Perform newborn hearing screenings, complete required documentation, and coordinate follow-ups as needed
• Observe and uphold safety, environmental, and infection control standards, reporting unsafe conditions promptly
• Provide assistance with lifting services, mail/package delivery, and other support duties as needed
• Verifies MD Order and gathers necessary equipment
• Performs hand hygiene and identifies patient using 2 hospital approved identifiers
• Explains procedure to patient and/or family
• Performs 12-lead EKG
• Prints EKG and verifies accurate copy for chart
• Transmits the EKG and delivers results provider or chart depending on result
• Charges for the EKG in Order Management
• Retrieves Old EKG in Lahearts as requested
