Join Orbital Engineering, Inc. as a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer. Orbital has been driven by its core purpose for over 50 years: creating, improving, and sustaining industry and infrastructure. The company is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience to support the Civil/Structural Engineering Department in the Baton Rouge, LA office.

The ideal candidate will provide technical and project execution oversight for various projects, requiring project and resource management experience in a consulting environment and expertise in heavy industrial retrofit engineering projects in the petrochemical, oil & gas, and industrial gas industries.

Responsibilities include:

• Executing department activities, scheduling, organizing, directing, and reviewing resources and activities.
• Hiring staff, establishing goals and expectations, and conducting performance reviews.
• Establishing operational plans, developing policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work.
• Functioning as Project Manager and/or Senior Engineer on specific projects.
• Preparing and guiding the preparation of engineering proposals, including scopes of work, project schedules, and cost estimates.
• Preparing, reviewing, and checking engineering calculations, designs, drawings, and project documents.
• Certifying and PE-sealing designs, drawings, and documents as required.
• Developing and maintaining technical standards and specifications.
• Providing enhanced customer support as a technical liaison and supporting regional business development initiatives.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural and/or Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of senior-level engineering experience in heavy industrial environments.
• Successful experience in leadership roles managing engineering teams and/or departments.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills with clients and engineering personnel.
