Position Summary

The Mitigation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all emergency response, mitigation, and remediation projects from start to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with company standards. This role includes managing and supervising the field technicians assigned to each job, maintaining client satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety protocols. The Mitigation Manager plays a critical role in providing services that facilitate and support client operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive and strategic leader with strong organizational skills and a proven ability to manage both people and projects in a fast-paced restoration environment and capable of operating without direct supervision or guidance with respect to overseeing the overall direction of emergency work orders and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Oversight: Manage and oversee all aspects of mitigation and remediation projects, including creating schedules, budgets, and establishing protocols for documentation, and quality control.
• Create procedures, parameters, protocols, and standards, including NTEs, on-site work protocols, and scope of work.
• Consult with and advise management on all aspects of project management, client projects, and deliverables to clients.
• Leverages industry expertise to negotiate contract terms with subcontractors and clients.
• Creates and directs project schedules, budgets, costs, bids, and materials.
• Authorizes change orders, discounts, and changes in pricing consistent with client needs and market conditions. Team Leadership:Directly supervise and mentor mitigation technicians, ensuring proper training, performance management, and adherence to company policies, including recommendations to management regarding performance reviews, hiring, firing and discipline.
• Secures, hires, oversees, and terminates sub-contractors.
• Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates and resolving concerns. Investigates, resolves, and troubleshoots issues related to client projects, including but not limited to quality control, budgeting, and timeliness.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all projects follow IICRC standards, OSHA safety regulations, and company protocols.
• Documentation & Reporting: Oversee job documentation, moisture mapping, drying logs, and other required reports to ensure accuracy and completeness; create mitigation and remediation bids for projects.
• Resource Management: Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor resources efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
• Problem Solving: Identify potential challenges on projects and implement solutions to ensure successful completion.

• Project Management: Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple jobs simultaneously. Effectively uses judgment, experience, and expertise in the industry for planning, organizing, directing, supervising and accomplishing the goals of a project(s) requirements and activities to meet objectives. Includes balancing the task requirements within the constraints of schedules and budgets.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficient in water, fire, and mold mitigation practices; familiarity with drying science, psychometrics, and remediation techniques.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with restoration management tools (Encircle, Xactimate, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Documentation & Reporting: Strong ability to maintain accurate job files, moisture mapping, drying logs, and project notes.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for customers, technicians, and insurance partners.
• Budgeting & Estimating: Ability to prepare and manage job budgets, estimates, and work orders.
• Self-Sufficiency and Autonomy: Has the ability and expertise to operate independently and with minimal oversight with respect to all job requirements.
• Leadership: Is an effective leader and articulates clear and compelling standards and expectations. Provides day-to-day leadership by supporting team members through coaching and guidance; manages performance through regular feedback and goal-setting; serves as a knowledgeable resource for project and process-related inquiries; acts as the primary escalation point to resolve high-priority or complex issues efficiently.
• Problem Solving: Asks good questions and probes all sources for answers; sees underlying or hidden patterns; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers. Uses rigorous logic and methods to analyze and understand why problems occur; generates and implements creative, cost effective and realistic solutions and/or makes recommendations to management and/or clients with respect to the same.

Requirements

Experience/Education/Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the restoration or construction industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or project management role.
• IICRC certifications in Water Damage Restoration (WRT).
• Applied Structural Drying (ASD) and Mold Remediation, preferred.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in restoration software (e.g., Encircle, Xactimate, or similar).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Salary Description

$60,000 - $85,000
