HGA is seeking a direct-hire Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our Baton Rouge office. This role supports a Lead Engineer and involves both individual and team-based assignments to help produce high-quality deliverables under close supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and review engineering design activities based on general instructions and drawings.
  
  
• Develop specifications and requisitions for instrumentation, control systems, DCS, PLCs, and Safety Instrumented Systems.
  
  
• Create instrument indexes and contribute to P&ID development.
  
  
• Direct designers and drafters in preparing detailed construction drawing packages, including layouts, diagrams, schedules, and installation details.
  
  
• Ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and completeness of design packages.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  
  
• 2-5 years of experience in Electrical and Instrumentation engineering, preferably within consulting or industrial project settings.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, ANSI, and international codes.
  
  
• Experience with instrumentation and valve sizing software is a plus.
  
  
• Must reside within commuting distance of Baton Rouge, LA.

• Engineer Intern (EI) registration.
  
  
• Successful completion of the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
