The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the State's investment in technology by promoting smart decision?making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering a skilled and professional staff.
Incumbent of this position reports to the Information Technology Manager responsible for IT Asset Management within the Standards and Governance unit of EUC. EUC is the first point of contact for all statewide IT incidents, issues and requests from more than 30,000 users and devices in 700+ locations. EUC services are divided into 5 core areas of concentration including Standards and Governance, Field Operations, Enterprise Provisioning, Service Desk and End User Technology. Incumbent of this position is responsible for the Hardware Asset Specialist functions of EUC asset management.
The Division of Administration is the state governments management arm and the hub of its financial operations. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following:
Qualifications
Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full?time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE: A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.
Responsible for daily operations related to all EUC Hardware assets and lifecycle process. Evaluates and tests new and upcoming technology or models for compatibility and adherence to device standards and makes recommendations for establishing standard product lines. Prepares documentation to describe hardware standard options, functions and purpose. Develops and implements standard processes to request and receive hardware assets. Makes recommendations for budget cost and monthly rates for hardware related lines of service. Coordinates with hardware vendors to plan for product availability, demo equipment, establish standards, pricing and support service levels.
Responsible for daily operations related to all EUC hardware asset inventory to ensure items are properly documented and controlled. Evaluates report information to determine the status of the hardware lifecycle and plan for replacement. This includes monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to keep appropriate standard equipment in stock, monitoring lease and warranty end dates for renewals or replacements, ensuring assets are decommissioned properly. Conducts audits of hardware inventory to verify item information is accurate.
Responsible for daily procurement operations related to EUC hardware and software including evaluation of requests to ensure standards are being enforced and identifying acceptable solutions for non?standard equipment needs. Approves orders and routes to appropriate team for procurement or deployment. Responsible for asset contract management related to all EUC hardware assets including monitoring contracts for service level, ownership and usage compliance.
Responsible for providing reporting data that will be used for monthly billing to invoice customers for usage related to EUC hardware lines of service along with associated reporting for supporting documentation of assigned equipment, licensing, warranty status, location status and active or inactive status. Monitors configuration management systems and endpoint tracking system for status, reporting and reconciliation of asset data. Initiates claim and recovery efforts if devices are lost or stolen.
Performs all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed.
