Office of Early Childhood Operations
At LDOE, our mission is to ensure that all children from birth to four will lead the way to kindergarten readiness.
Were looking for a Licensing Consultant to serve as the first point of contact at the agency for potential and licensed providers, to assist with explaining rules, regulations, standards and agency policies to licensees. This position will require processing of applications for licensure, renewal, and change requests, as well as compiling information derived from inspections, preparing reports on results of inspections, describing need for improvement or revision of facility operations, and formulating recommendations.
Experience and education requirements:
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license at time of appointment. This position requires the incumbent to travel.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Monday Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
