Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting month-end close activities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounting and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper supporting documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct detailed bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and company policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Proficiency in Quickbooks or other related accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central would be ideal.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
