Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Associate's degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels and functions within the Site, collaborating with Maintenance and HSE as needed.
  • 10+ years of working experience in a maintenance and/or construction environment - hands on work or in supporting roles
  • Demonstrated success working with large cross functional teams in the execution of projects.
  • Develop and present plans for completion of projects.
  • Hold meetings and provide consistent updates to internal customers and project partners, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Ability to frame complex subject matter concisely and develop buy in for ideas to improve maintenance, facilities, and office area needs at the PDC.
  • Ability to perform maintenance project economics.
  • Coordinate maintenance workloads and resources including personnel and equipment.
    • Track maintenance requests, repairs/solutions, and updates using LIMS system.
    • Provide consistent updates to customers regarding maintenance requests (discuss via LIMS, email, and in person when request received and after work completed).
    • Generate reports of maintenance results and trends.
  • Assess and resolve maintenance issues at PDC in collaboration with Site Maintenance.
    • Act as advocate or champion for Albemarle team members' maintenance issues.
    • Schedule weekly work to be performed by Site Maintenance.
    • Attend daily and weekly scheduling meetings held by Site Maintenance to coordinate servicing of maintenance requests.
    • Walk job when maintenance arrives to perform work, and inspect after completion. (Carry facility radio when working away from desk.)
  • Manage multiple complex priorities with demanding time frames.
  • Proactively conduct facility rounds observing and identifying repairs, concerns, and safety issues, and initiating solutions (i.e., enter work orders, address minor repairs, communicate with maintenance, HSE, team members, etc.).
  • Ability to monitor outdoor equipment (i.e., air handlers, chillers, hood exhaust blowers) to ensure they are functioning properly and involve maintenance as needed.
  • Ability to manage offsite and Sea Can storage units by tracking content and coordinating moving and retrieval of equipment and supplies as requested.
  • Manage the WL drop zone receiving area, notifying individuals of packages, and assisting with distribution as needed.
  • Responsible for safely disposing of items such as metal, wooden pallets, etc. from the rear of West Labs, utilizing a forklift as required.
  • Support other responsibilities of the office and facilities team as assigned.
    • Lab Coat monitoring:
      • Contact for weekly delivery
      • Sort
      • Lab coat monitoring system: individuals to enter when lab coat dropped off and returned; create report
    • Office and break room supply support
      • Min/Max ordering system: order and put away
      • Maintain an orderly area
      • Assist with setting up meetings
    • Maintain excellence in safety, health, and environmental practices.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement both in technology and safety.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and basic SAP skills
