Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad. Saber Power Services seeks a professional, dedicated individual for our System Administrator opening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Position Summary
The System Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining the organizations IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and end-user systems. This position ensures the stability, security, and performance of IT operations through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and support. Working under the guidance of senior IT staff, the System Administrator is responsible for minimizing downtime and maximizing system efficiency across multiple office locations with primary responsibilities for our Baton Rouge and Alexandria, Louisiana locations, also supporting other offices as needed.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain servers, including managing user accounts, group policies, security permissions, print services, and event-log monitoring.
- Support core IT systems and applications such as Microsoft Azure, Office 365, ConnectWise, and Windows 10/11 Pro.
- Monitor system health and hardware performance using existing management tools; respond to issues promptly and assist with server builds and maintenance.
- Maintain and support all internal IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, and printers.
- Ensure seamless operation of internet connectivity, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with help desk and other support teams; identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
- Conduct routine audits, system backups, and updates to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Travel to company offices within the Baton Rouge area, as well as occasional visits to Alexandria and other satellite locations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a Windows domain environment, including:
- Active Directory and Group Policy management
- Microsoft Azure and Office 365 multi-tenant administration
- System monitoring tools and enterprise backup/recovery solutions
- Windows Server environments and desktop OS (Windows 10/11 Pro)
- Certifications: CCNA, Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MS-100/101, AZ-104) strongly preferred.
- Experience with engineering and CAD applications, such as:
- AutoCAD, PLSCADD, STAAD Pro, Bentley software, Bluebeam
- Familiarity with SQL database support and cloud computing (Microsoft Azure).
- Proven experience with VPN configurations: Site-to-site VPN, Cisco AnyConnect, Fortinet, and Unifi client VPNs.
- File sharing and domain directory administration in Windows environments.
- Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hardware, software, and network layers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs.
- Reliable transportation for regular travel to offices across Louisiana.
