In this role, you will serve as team leader of members in the production area to achieve production and delivery objectives. Responsible for coordinating the activities of machine operators, assist in promoting a safe and productive work environment to meet and exceed production department goals and objectives, running a laser/ink jet machine, labeling and packaging products while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Ensures that safety culture is embedded in the day-to-day work as a first priority. Responsible for ensuring that production of scheduled orders, labeling and packaging operations are completed efficiently, safely, and that the product conforms to quality standards. Ensures that all production workstations tasks are being performed in an efficient manner on a timely basis with the desired quality. Talent management such us compensation planning, performance evaluation and talent growth framework. Responsible for time and attendance records in ADP, approve timecards for payroll, track vacation, sick leave, and any other employee leave approved by Sedgwick and using correct pay code. Controls and plans employee overtime. Works with Maintenance Supervisor and Warehousing Personnel to ensure all production and mechanical needs are met for timely production of quality products. Responsible for ensuring that all packaging is available and correct. Responsible for QC inspections of finish product when work is completed and take action to prevent any quality issues. Responsible for Tier 1 & 2 attendance and documenting metrics to include but not limited to the following: downtime, attendance, quality, OEE, safety, waste, OTD, and inspections. Follows established conduct, procedures and safety rules for the area and ensures that assigned machine operators do the same. Responsible for knowing all safety requirements for each direct report and all operations as it relates to their job functions and equipment. Responsible for proper use of equipment and reports any malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Read and interpret SOPs for production area and assist operators with training and implementation. Watch for and take prompt action, including shutting down the workstation temporarily, as operational malfunctions are seen. Using the appropriate decision making to ensure the highest quality of production. When the workstation is shut down, prompt action will be taken to secure help in problem solving and root cause analysis to minimize downtime. This is obtained by having the proper knowledge for problem solving and troubleshooting.
High school Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Three (3)+ years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, operations environment. Experience using Microsoft Office products, Excel knowledge required. Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, 2 years of experience with SAP a plus. Bi-Lingual English and Spanish is a plus.
