About this Job This vacancy is located in the Capitol Detail Unit of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections/ Office of State Police located in East Baton Rouge Parish. This incumbent of this position serves as the second-line supervisor and manages the operations of a shift of DPS Police Officers. He/she prepares duty assignments assigns officers to respond to calls, directs, inspects and reviews the law enforcement activities of his/her subordinate officers. Minimum Qualifications Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been in a position equivalent or higher in scope of responsibility to a DPS Police Sergeant in State service:Five years of experience as a DPS Police Officer; OR - Six years of law enforcement experience as a POST-certified peace officer with the powers of arrest.
