Job Details

AMMON Staffing is seeking experienced Flux Core Arc Welders (FCAW) to support an industrial project at the Shell Catalyst facility in Port Allen, LA. This role involves welding on carbon plate and stainless steel drums, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and quality. Candidates must have experience with arc gouging and fillet weld repairs, as well as the ability to work at height on scaffolding with fall protection. Pay Rate is $50.00/Hour

Key Responsibilities
Perform FCAW welding with a wire feeder on carbon plate and stainless steel.
Conduct arc gouging to remove cracked fillet welds before applying new welds.
Execute fillet welds to project specifications.
Ensure all welds meet quality standards; welds will be inspected using dye penetrant testing.
Work safely and efficiently on scaffolds, following fall protection protocols.
Maintain compliance with all site-specific safety, PPE, and orientation requirements.

Requirements
Proven experience as an FCAW welder on industrial projects.
Proficiency in arc gouging and fillet weld repairs.
Ability to weld on both carbon plate and stainless steel.
Must be able to work at height and utilize fall protection.
Completion of BASIC Orientation Plus or Refresher.
Must complete Shell site-specific training (online link provided prior to project start).
Required PPE: Hard Hat, Steel Toe Boots, Safety Goggles, Fall Protection Harness.

Schedule & Compensation

Shifts Available:
6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Day Shift, 2 positions)
6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night Shift, 2 positions)

Duration: Project runs continuously with around-the-clock operations.
Pay Rate: $50.00/hour.
