Description:

The MaintenanceTechnician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing items suchas machinery, vehicles, physical structures, pipes, and electrical systems in asafe and productive manner at Corrosion Materials (CMI).

Responsibilities and Duties

As aminimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties andresponsibilities expected of the Maintenance Technician. These duties are notexhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organizationrequire.

  • Visuallyinspect and test machinery and equipment according to the manufacturer'sspecifications; dismantle defective items and install new or repaired parts.
  • Performmaintenance service repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting,plastering, machine servicing, electrical, fabrication, welding, and vehicleservicing.
  • Cleanand lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installand repair electrical apparatus such as transformers and wiring and electricaland electronics components of machinery and equipment.
  • Repairand maintain physical structure of establishment.
  • Performpreventive and predictive maintenance according to the schedule in order tomeet production demand.
  • Establishcritical parts and approved vendor lists.
  • Workwith department supervisors to implement best maintenance practices in supportof efficiency and quality within each department.
  • Coordinateand work with contractor workers or vendors performing repairs and/orpreventative maintenance on CM property.
  • FollowHazardous Chemicals policies.
  • Operatecranes and forklift trucks safely and properly.
  • Useproper tie off to safety line while working above floor level.
  • Coordinatesupply of all utility services to the CM-Baker facility.
  • Followall safety procedures.
  • Applyall lock-out/tag-out procedures during repairs.
  • Demonstrateinitiative and assist in collaborating on special projects.
  • Adhereto all CMI's safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Adhereto all CMI's handbook policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Twoyears or more of warehouse maintenance experience
  • Strongwork ethic; self-motivated
  • Operatewith high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers,and suppliers.
  • Goodwritten and oral communication skills
  • Abilityto measure using different tools
  • Abilityto effectively multi-task
  • Goodorganizational, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Computerskills necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate'sor Bachelor's degree
  • Threeor more years of experience in electrical repairs
  • Fiveor more years of warehouse maintenance experience
